A Testament to Rider's Edge

" I thank both Dave lambert and Dave Mumford from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the opportunity, believing in the entire class
and myself, and all their encouragement throughout this process. Both of them will be constantly in my head saying "Turn your head, turn your handlebars" (Dave Mumford) and "Smooootthhh on the clutch and brakes!" (Dave Lambert) as I'm encouraged to keep on learning to enjoy the ride safely as my skills grow." With gratitude and respect: Marcia Zilliacus

AMA MHOF Museum Free Admission

Museum offers free admission on 5th Annual Museum Day.
September 11, 2009

Pickerington, OH - The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum will participate in the fifth annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine.

A celebration of culture, learning and the dissemination of knowledge, Smithsonian's Museum Day reflects the spirit of the magazine, and emulates the free-admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington, D.C.-based properties. Doors will be open free of charge to Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors at museums and cultural institutions nationwide.

Last year, upward of 200,000 people attended Museum Day, with all 50 states plus Puerto Rico represented by more than 900 participating museums, including 84 Smithsonian affiliate museums. This year, the magazine expects to attract over 1,000 museums.

"We are proud of our motorcycling heritage, and we're looking forward to sharing the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame with Smithsonian magazine readers and Smithsonian.com visitors this Sept. 26," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "The stories of the amazing people who shaped our sport, pastime and lifestyle are exciting and inspiring. We're confident that everyone who takes advantage of this program and visits the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame will agree."

Founded in 1990, the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to motorcycling, including those known for their contributions to road riding, off-road riding and all categories of racing, as well as those who have excelled in government relations, business, history, design and engineering.

More information about the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum can be found at MotorcycleMuseum.org.

Visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday to download your Museum Day Admission Card. Attendees must present the Museum Day Admission Card to gain free entry to participating institutions. Each card provides museum access for two people, and one admission card is permitted per household. Listings and links to participating museums' can also be found at www.smithsonian.com/museumday.
